## Install from WordPress.org

The easiest way to install Speed in China:

In your WordPress admin, go to **Plugins → Add New**.

Search for **"Speed in China"**.

Click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.

Navigate to the new **Speed in China** menu item in your admin sidebar.

## Manual Upload

If you prefer to install manually or have a premium ZIP file:

Download the plugin ZIP from [WordPress.org](https://wordpress.org/plugins/speed-in-china/) or from your Freemius account (for paid plans).

Go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**.

Choose the ZIP file and click **Install Now**.

Click **Activate Plugin**.

## Freemius Activation

Speed in China uses [Freemius](https://freemius.com/) for license management and updates. After activation:

*   **Free users** — You can optionally opt in to anonymous usage analytics. This is not required.
*   **Paid users** — When you purchase a plan, you'll receive a license key. The plugin will prompt you to enter it, or you can activate it from the **Account** section in the plugin settings.

After activating a paid license, additional features (test history, scheduled testing, and more) unlock automatically. No settings to configure — just activate your key.

## After Installation

Once installed, the plugin adds a **Speed in China** menu item under your WordPress admin sidebar. The plugin interface is organized into tabs:

*   **Speed Test** — Run manual speed tests from China
*   **Optimizations** — Google Font localization, resource analysis, and optimization suggestions
*   **Log** — View past speed test results (Personal plan and above)
*   **Schedule** — Configure automatic test scheduling (PRO plan and above)

Start by running your first speed test — head to **Speed in China → Speed Test** and click the **Test Now** button.
